Instead of a Friday Five, I wanted to do an updated 2016 goals post. This is the next to last goal update I’ll do for our 2016 goals! I don’t expect much to change in the next few weeks but I’ll still do one final update at the beginning of January before talking about our 2017 goals.
-Demo current deck
-Build new, bigger deck
-Refinish very old but new to us front door
-Install front door
-Repaint the study (moved to 2017)
-Add built ins in the study? (moved to 2017)
-Add crown moulding in the study? (moved to 2017)
-Create new area for dogs (moved to 2017)
-Remove dog crates from master bedroom We’ve decided against this.
-Paint master bedroom? (moved to 2017)
-Clean up side/back/front yards – In progress.
-Price out all aspects of kitchen remodel
-Remove shed? – not happening this year.
I know for sure the study, bedroom, and dog projects are being moved to the first half of 2017. The yards are a complete mess right now which is one big downside of having a mature lot! The leaves are gorgeous in Fall but the clean up is a nightmare.
ADDED AFTER JANUARY FIRST:
-New flooring in entry/study/living room. – Mostly done! We just need to add the thresholds and then install the baseboards in the living room.
-Paint living room.
-Stain beams in living room.
-Read 26 books – can be re-reads or never before reads, but must come from books we already own – I really fell off the wagon on this one and it’s not going to happen. I think I’m on #18 right now.
-Go on an awesome vacation
-Lose 20lbs – Ugh, no. I’m not even going to bother with this one. I haven’t really worked out regularly since my half marathon and I’ve been eating like a total garbage person so I’ve actually gained a bunch of weight back that I lost last year.
-Tone and tighten once I finish losing these last 20lbs. – See above.
-Walk the dogs more – We were doing okay with this but haven’t walked them in a few weeks.
-Use my craft room – Not really.

There aren’t really any more house goals to work on other than the yard clean up but I may be able to work on some of the personal goals in these last few weeks!
